Toasting
You might be surprised by how early you need to plan for things in a wedding. If you're interested in doing a toast, we'd love to have you do one. Let us know if you're interested so we can put together 'the list'!
Vendors
This hasn't been updated in a while, but Susan and I have been hard at work! We've already selected some of our vendors. Here's an update:
Photographer: Jenn Bartell Photography
http://jennbartell.com
(She makes me feel like my wedding Converse may be too overdone, but oh well! I love them!--And Susan for letting me get away with them!)
DJ and Coordinator: Sound Image Entertainment
http://www.soundimagedjs.com/
We weren't going to do a DJ or a Coordinator, but we've decided that not making friends and family run around during our wedding is just too valuable. Everyone sit back, have fun, relax. Enjoy with us. That's the new wedding motto.
We're working on catering; we know who we want to use, we just have to finalize.
Wedding dress and groom's suit are all taken care of. The gents will be in chocolate brown (with cream shirts and dark purple ties) and rumor is that the Maid of Honor will be in Dark Purple.
Guys in Converse encouraged! Have fun!

Engaged!

Official Proposal Date: May 30, 2010
Hans asked Susan to marry him on top of Chemise Mountain at the Vista Point overlooking the Coastal Mountain Range... He is soo sweet!
So I was asked for a little more detail:
The day before Hans proposed (Susan's Birthday) we arrived at our favorite camping spot at Nadelos Campground. Nadelos stands at the base of the Chemise Mountain Trail, this trail leads to the top of Chemise Mountain overlooking a beautiful vista of mountains. It also has another trail head at the top called the Pacific Coast Trail one of the most famous hardcore hiking trails that many hardcore backpackers will spend weeks hiking. We only hike a small portion of it for the afternoon.
We decided to go on a hike after setting up at the campsite, our original plan was to hike all the way up to Chemise Mountain Trail, but I wasn't feeling well. Turns out her not feeling well we thought to be allergies the whole weekend was actually a bad cold. Now how that works out I don't know! So we got the end of the first portion of the hike and I didn't want to go all the way up, but Hans was surprised he wanted to propose today on my Birthday. But Susan really wasn't feeling good. So they went back hung out and made dinner. Hans said he almost decided to propose at the camp ground. I was glad that he waited.
The next day after breakfast we went back up, I was a little revived. We took our time getting to the top, but we got there. Hans was nervous, but he braved it. He asked me to sit down after I tied the dogs up, we didn't want them falling down the mountain. So I sat on this really old wooden bench, He knelt on one knee and asked if I would marry him. I said yes in very few words, as I was surprised! We kissed and than he magically pulled out to plastic cups he bought just for the occasion and a bottle of Blueberry Sparkling Juice. Wasn't that sweet? We enjoyed the rest of our hike on the Pacific Coast Trail saw the ocean, mountains, and trees, than headed back and enjoyed the rest of our weekend.
